Want to level up your animation game and add that missing piece to your reel? Look no further! Take the next step into your animation career with us in our 2 week summer camp course. Here you find all you need to know and how to apply.

What You’ll Achieve:

• Create a stop-motion reel that wows industry experts.
• Refresh and be able to apply the 12 principles of animation to your work.
• Dive into stop-motion character animation and acting basics.
• Get comfortable with stop-motion animation software and equipment.

Your profile:

• You already have animation experience, ideally using Dragonframe and working
on live sets.
• You understand the basics of animation and are keen to refine and perfect them.

Course Overview:

Week 1: Lay the Foundation

• Dive into animation history.
• Lighting and setup of a professional set.
• Refresh and perfect the 12 animation principles, using clay.
• Transform basic movements into believable performances.

Week 2: Character Animation Essentials

• Learn and perform the basics of character animation: walking, pulling, pushing,
standing up/down, skips and jumps.
• Dip your toes into animating emotions with the classic “double take”.
• Complete your reel.

During the course you will receive personalized mentoring by industry professionals on how to edit and improve your reel, so you can be ready for the next step in your career.

Additionally, during the course there will be opportunities to network and socialise in the lovely Dutch summer sun, attend exhibitions and access to our very cool library, full of epic books about animation.

Dates:

We are offering 2 editions of the course this summer:

• Camp 1: July 29 until August 09.
• Camp 2: August 19 until August 30.

Pricing: €2000 ex VAT

For international attendees with a EU VAT number, the VAT charge will be 0%

For the duration of the course we’ve got you covered with:

• Fully rigged puppets (ball and socket armatures).
• Cameras and lenses.
• Lighting
• Dragonframe license.
• Everyday coffee, tea and snacks.
