What

Your profile

You are ambitious and have some animation experience, ideally using Dragonframe. You are eager and understand the basics of animation and are keen to refine and perfect them within our studio environment.

How

Week 1: Lay the Foundation

The days start with classical session. Together we dive (back) into animation history. We refresh and perfect your 12 animation principles, using clay. Each participant will use our provided cameras and lenses for this. You get a glimpse into the world of cinematography using light and layout as your power tools, and you will learn the basics of acting and transform basic movements into believable performances.

Week 2: Character Animation Essentials

In the second week we dive in to performance and the basics of character animation: sitting down / standing up, pulling / pushing, walking cycles, skips / jumps. During this week you get personalized feedback on your work and on how to complete your reel. We are always nearby for questions and to help out during this week.

WHEN

Two weeks, every work day from July 20 to July 31. During these two weeks we also visit the animation exposition at the Eye Film Institute in Amsterdam and we have nice social get togethers and a nice end BBQ at the studio.

TUITION FEE

The price for our two week stop-motion camp is €1850 ex VAT.

This fee does not include accommodation. Be aware you have to arrange this yourself.

For international participants with a EU VAT number, we can do a ‘reverse charge’ for the VAT. (0% VAT after providing VAT number).

SCHOLARSHIP OPTIONS

If you are a Dutch animation professional, there is a 75% subsidy possible through the Dutch Film Fund. This covers 75% of your tuition fee! Check this link if it applies for you:

EXTRA NOTES

For the duration of the course we provide you with a camera, lenses, lights, an animation puppet, (temp) Dragonframe licence, puppet rigging. Daily snacks, coffee and more.
